How do Clue Town Books work?
Each book title focuses on a walkable area of Atlanta. Landmarks within that area are used to solve puzzles that lead readers to the next landmark checkpoint.
What is the recommended age for a Clue Town hunt?
Clue Town Books contain puzzles that range in difficulty from easy (e.g. connect-the-dots, maze) to challenging (e.g. word puzzles, rebus). Solvers 12 and older should be able to complete the entire hunt on their own. Younger children may need help from an adult.
How long does it take to complete a Clue Town hunt?
Completion time depends on many factors: age, pace, and number of solvers. Full-length hunts range between 60-90 minutes; mini-hunts take 20-40 minutes. Please refer to the Shop Page for the average completion time for each title.
How many people can use one book at the same time?
For friends and families looking to spend time together, one book will be sufficient. While there is no limit to the number of people that can use one book, be aware that the larger the group is, the more sharing of tasks (e.g. solving a puzzle, reading a compass) there will be.
Clue Town Books are great for team-building exercises. We recommend 2-3 solvers per book for competitive endeavors.
How many times can a book be reused?
The books are meant for one-time use, because solvers will be writing puzzle solutions on the pages.
Will I find treasure at the end of the hunt?
The books are designed as scavenger hunts, not treasure hunts. However, readers are rewarded with a small prize at the end of each book for crossing the finish line.
Do you have bulk rates?
Yes. Bulk rates apply when a customer orders five or more books. The price structure is:
5-9 books - $11.50 per book
Please click the email icon at the top of the page to request a bulk rate.
What kind of compass is included?
The compass measures 1.5" x 3/4" and is liquid-filled for stable readings. A lengthy rope loop allows it to be worn on a wrist, tied to a backpack, or attached to a keychain.
Are you working on other cities besides Atlanta?
Yes. A San Francisco title is in the works, though it is on hiatus due to long-term construction at Golden Gate Park. Cities regional to Atlanta (e.g. Athens, Savannah) will be a focus in the next couple of years.
